Hello all! The MAE camp is deep in reflection these days and thoroughly focused on the future. It would be silly to assume that our spotted interaction with you, our fans, would not be cause for slight curiosity as to what we are doing these days. Obviously, we experienced a set back last year which has slowed us down, although, but that is not the whole picture. The whole picture is more detailed, although, no less concerned with MAE and the promise we made to you last year. So far, since the beginning of 2009 we have released two parts of a three part picture, and this year we will complete the picture. We just released (a)fternoon in stores, with a DVD included, and later this year, we will release (e)vening, the last installment. Please go pick up (a)fternoon if you haven't done so yet, the DVD is pretty great. Meanwhile, stay tuned and look for a new song to be released on whatismae.com in May!
For the first part of this year we are playing some shows which can be found on our website. We hope that they happen in an area close enough for you to come out and have fun with us. In May, we will be part of Destination Imagination's Global Finals, which is the culmination of a years worth of work, and contest between groups of kids from around the world that compete with each other in events that focus on creativity, ingenuity, and problem solving. We're honored to be a part of it! Please check out the details at the Destination Imagination website. In addition to that, we also have some shows spotted here and there around the country which are listed on our website.
Although, what else is going on!? Well, lately we've all been able to focus on some of our own, more self indulgent, creative questions or desires. Jacob has teamed up with Andy Mellon and our good friend Brett Brownell and Astorya Entertainment to document Zach Bonner's walk across the country to raise awareness for homeless children. It's an amazing story and falls right in line with MAE's focus on community involvement. Dave has been busy in Nashville working with a band from Virginia Beach called Rekapse. He also has a few other production projects lined up and is looking for bands to produce! Keep tabs on what Dave is doing by following him on Twitter. Zach has started working on some music of his own with friends, he's also had his nose in books. Check out his blog to argue with him! The beauty of all of these individual projects is that they all enrich the experience of MAE, just like the individual can enrich the whole of the community. It's all part of the maze!
See ya soon!

After some setbacks, we are so excited to be able to announce that our new song, "Sleep Well" is online now at whatismae.com! Please make a donation, download the song, and pay it forward! The song includes the very, very cool assistance of our friends in Owl City on strings, so make sure you to give it a listen!
Due to the theft of all of our instruments, gear, and equipment, our November song is unfortunately delayed. We apologize to all of you have been patiently waiting. As soon as we are back up on our feet, we will aim to get you the November and December songs as soon as we possibly can. As always, thank for your love, dedication, and support. You are what keeps the fire burning!
After a brief delay, we are proud to announce that our October song is finally online now at whatismae.com. Please check out the new song "Seasons" and make a donation!
"Seasons" is much different than anything we have released this year. It is a story about relationships in time. It is a dance between a day and a year. And it is the music of a birth, a life, a death, and a rebirth. It is about cycles that we experience in our brief stay here on Planet Earth.
"Seasons" is designed to be experienced simultaneously as sound and image. When you listen to the song, follow along with the digital booklet that is included in your digital download. Each image in the booklet coincides with a section of the song. As you listen to the song more and more, replace the images with those that you create.
Our greatest hope is that you have been inspired by our year long project in 2009 and that you make a commitment within yourself to be the difference you want to see in the world. That is the greatest multisensory aesthetic experience you can have; a life well lived and full of love.
Take this coming year and make your own story out of pictures. Use this song as your soundtrack and show us your world.
Our September song, "I Just Needed You To Know," is online right now only at whatismae.com. The song is the first song from the forthcoming (e)vening release. Make a donation and download the song here!
